VOTE – Town Budget Referendum
May 7, 2013 – Voting for the 2013-2014 Town, Board of Education, Region 19 (E. O. Smith), and the Capital Improvement Budget will take place at Knowlton Memorial Hall from 6 A. M. until 8 P. M.

April 11, 2013 – the following motions were made at the Special Meeting held by the Ashford Board of Finance:
MR. CANAVAN MOVED AND MR. FUNK SECONDED A MOTION TO TRANSFER $613,350.43 FROM THE UNDESIGNATED FUND BALANCE: $607,500.00 INTO ACCOUNT NUMBER 110-73000-59435-000 USDA WATERLINE PRINCIPAL FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING THE PRINCIPAL IN FULL ON THE USDA 2000 LOAN AND $5,850.43 INTO ACCOUNT NUMBER 110-73000-59434-000 USDA WATERLINE INTEREST FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING INTEREST DUE ON USDA 2000 LOAN THROUGH APRIL 16, 2013. THE MOTION PASSED WITH EVERYONE VOTING AFFIRMATIVELY.
MS. EASTWOOD MOVED AND MS. CERCENA SECONDED A MOTION TO TRANSFER $66,543.67 FROM THE UNDESIGNATED FUND BALANCE INTO ACCOUNT NUMBER 110-92000-59980-000 BOND ISSUANCE COSTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING INVOICES RELATED TO GENERAL OBLIGATION REFUNDING BONDS, ISSUE OF 2013. THE MOTION PASSED WITH EVERYONE VOTING AFFIRMATIVELY.

Town Tax Payment Deadline
The last day to pay taxes without interest penalty is Friday, Feb. 1st, 2013. The tax office closes at 3 P.M. You may have your payment hand cancelled with the postmark up until 5 P.M. on Friday.

Jan 28th Conservation Cmsn Meeting Cancelled
28 January 2013 – Tonight’s Conservation Commission meeting has been cancelled due to the inclement weather. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Ashford Conservation Commission is Monday, February 25, 2013

Residents reminded to secure their mailboxes
The Public Works Department is reminding town residents to secure their mailboxes prior to the arrival of the winter storm season.
The Town of Ashford will not be responsible for any damage to mail boxes.
Sand Available for Ashford Residents
During stormy weather, sand will be available for Ashford residents outside the gate of the Municipal Garage at 185 Nott Highway. Sand will also be available at the transfer station on Upton Road during the following days and times: Wednesdays 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.; Saturdays 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The sand contains a salt mixture content and should be used sparingly.
Ashford Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts Food Collection
On Saturday, December 8th, the Scouts will be dropping bags at homes in Ashford and picking up the food donations on Saturday, December 15th.
Please support the Scouts and this collection for the Ashford Food Bank.

Ashford Farmers Market Sundays until December 16, 2012
The Ashford Farmers Market is continuing every Sunday until December 16th. The market which is located on Route 44 (next to the old post office) is open from 10a.m.-1p.m.
