The Tax Collector’s Office is responsible for collecting the municipal taxes on real estate, personal property, and motor vehicles in order to provide revenue for the programs deemed necessary and/or desirable to operate the Town. These taxes become due and payable on July 1 and Jan. 1. Interest is calculated and collected on all accounts past due on Aug. 1 and Feb. 1. Liens are filed on all unpaid current real estate taxes in the spring.
The Tax Collector’s Office will be CLOSED on Wednesday, March 22nd & Friday, March 24th, due to staff attendance at the 46th Annual Tax Collectors’ Seminar.
The Tax Collector’s Office is closed every Thursday.

TO OBTAIN AN IMMEDIATE DMV RELEASE payment must be made in the Tax Office with Cash, Bank check or Money Order. If you use the online option, you will need to wait 10 business days to have the delinquency removed from the DMV.
A 2.95% service charge is added for all credit card transactions.
A $1.95 charge is added for check transactions.
