Town Clerk’s Office

The Town Clerk’s office is responsible for recording and maintaining all land records for the Town of Ashford.  This office is also responsible for issuing, maintaining, and reporting to the State of Connecticut, all of the following: Marriage Licenses, Dog Licenses, Sports Licenses and associated stamps and permits.  You can register to vote, register your Trade Name, register your DD214, and buy your subscription to the Ashford Citizen.  Certified copies of birth, death, and marriage certificates can be obtained in this office.  This is also the office you would visit to research your family’s geneology.  The Town Clerk’s office maintains a list of all current Ashford Justices of the Peace, Notary Publics, and Town of Ashford Ordinances.  Additionally, the Town Clerk’s office works in conjunction with the Registrars Office to facilitate efficient operation of all referendas, primaries and elections.
