It’s official! Ashford tornado touched down

At approximately 3:59 P.M. on Tuesday, July 17th, emergency alerts sounded, warning of the potential for a tornado in the Ashford area.  The sky had quickly darkened and the winds picked up, and for one single minute an EF0  tornado touched down in the Ashford Lake area of Ashford.  With wind speeds of between 65 to 85 mph the damage was contained to mostly trees with some homes involved.  Their were no reports of injuries, with the greatest loss being that of three rabbits whose kennels were reportedly hit by a falling tree.

Thank you to the public works crew, fire department members, friends, and neighbors for pulling together to keep everyone safe in the aftermath of this tornado.  This is what community is all about.
